Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“My wife and kids were at the store. The driver rear door opened just fine and closed. She came out put the kids in the car. She tried to close the door it popped right off the track. Worst part is it was severe thunder storms so family was stranded until my brother could get there. This is unacceptable! Thankful she wasn't driving”

NHTSA complaint #11234310, filed 2019-07, 190,000 miles

“Air bag sign is on and stays on. Also the door on the passenger and driver sliding will not close or open properly. They open when driving automatically. It has been a problem for so long but my mom has not reported. The paint has chip away and we did not get a recall notice. I checked and now it is too late.”

NHTSA complaint #11207925, filed 2019-05, 145,000 miles

“I was returning home and after driving on the freeway for approximately 45 minutes of driving at approximately 65 MPH I heard a pop under the hood of my van and began to see smoke. I was unable to accelerate and had to turn on my hazard lights and pull off the freeway at the next exit. Upon taking my vehicle to my mechanic, I was told my transmission had failed.”

NHTSA complaint #10478561, filed 2012-10, 85,050 miles

“Burning smell and smoke started to come out on the middle of our drive on I-95 n back from va to home in nj. We were with family including 12 year old son, we had to pull the van on the shoulder (barely any) . We had to call aaa to get our van towed to nj about 140 miles. The mechanic tells us that the transmission is failed and the cost would be around $4000. Our concern is the safety and american Honda failed to help us to cover the cost of transmission issue.”

NHTSA complaint #10978780, filed 2017-04, 158,000 miles

“The A/C condenser has been replaced twice due to it being punctured from every day wear and tear. After the most recent incident, the dealership installed a protective shield over the unit to protect it from further damage. I feel this was an engineering flaw and would like to be reimbursed the $678.81 that I have spent having these condensers replaced.”
