“I stopped behind a car waiting to merge from a parking lot to highway 193. The car ahead pulled out a little. Then apparently changing his mind, he backed up into me. I had not pulled forward, but he still totaled my car. Surprisingly, my airbags did not inflate. The collision bent my hood, cracked the grill, broke the bumper.”

NHTSA complaint #11042922, filed 2017-11, 200,000 miles

“There was no incident. My complaint is about the paint peeling significantly on my navy blue minivan. Got an estimate for out of pocket repainting and was quoted $800.00 just for the hood. Paint is peeling in more places. Decided to check online to see if this was a common occurrence and it is. I have owned the van for over 9 years and never received any recall or reimbursement for paint peeling problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10582999, filed 2014-04, 110,000 miles

“After the sliding door on the driver side stopped working, we was still able to switch off the switch and open/close it manually a few times. The following morning trying to do the same thing it only opened halfway and then wouldnt latch closed as I tried the second time to get it to latch closed the whole door just fell off track. Luckily it happened sitting in my moms driveway. I would hate to have seen what would had happened had I been driving when it came off since my 4 year olds seat is right there.”

NHTSA complaint #11246082, filed 2019-08, 188,769 miles

“The drive (d) light on the gear shift started blinking while I was driving. I pulled over and shifted to park, but the light continued to blink. I turned off the engine, and when I turned it back on the blinking had stopped. American Honda has told me that this may be related to a 2004 transmission-related recall, and that if so Honda will pay for the repairs. However, it must be diagnosed by a dealer, and Honda dealers charge a $115 diagnostic fee. Both the dealer and american Honda have told me they cannot waive the fee. …”

NHTSA complaint #10714949, filed 2015-05, 226,000 miles

“Own 2004 Honda Odyssey, original owner, purchased new, 130,000 miles. Check engine and traction control systems lights illuminated last wednesday. I believe I am one of many Odyssey owners with bad transmissions. Approximately $3500 to fix it.”
