“2021 Honda odessey lost power while driving 6 times. I ended up taking it to get service and the dealer couldn't replicate the issue in 3 different occasions. Ended up trading the odessey on thursday for a new one. However the the new 2021 Honda odessey that I bought thursday 4/8/21 lost power on me today as I was driving.”

“When coming to a complete atop, the engine switches off (the idle stop function), which is ok, but when I release the brake the engine often fails to restart. I’ve replaced the battery but this appears to be a common problem. It’s been happening more now at the end of summer when it’s hot for some reason. I was told there is a similar investigation open: EA25004”

NHTSA complaint #11757074, filed 2026-08

“The power trunk stopped working. The car starts warning me about a power tailgate problem. I have seen this issue reported by others as well. The warning light comes and goes randomly. The power trunk does not work at all anymore I have to open and close the trunk manually. I am concerned about the trunk malfunctioning further.”

NHTSA complaint #11643387, filed 2025-02

“Power tailgate problems caused by water leaking through body seams. A visible gap in the rear hatch allows water to flow into the vehicle and shorts out control module. This has ruined my control module, caused mold and I noticed a burning smell.”

“My sunroof exploded on my 2021 Honda Odyssey while I was driving on the interstate, I-10 East, on Dec 16, 2023, around 4:30 pm. There was no impact from a rock or other debris. There was no rain or hail present. I was not near an overpass. I was driving and heard an explosion above me and then heard outside air like the windows were open. The center of my sunroof exploded and shattered onto my sunroof cover.”
