“Transmission. This vehicle has had two transmissions in the past 3 months. For some reason they keep going up. I have had multiple repair companies tell me that the Honda Odyssey has the worst transmissions. The transmission went up on me while on vacation with my family and left us stranded 4 1/2 hours from home. I would not recommend a Honda Odyssey.”
NHTSA complaint #10882997, filed 2016-07, 195,000 miles“The engine mounts broke and had to be replaced even if the mileage is only 61,000 miles. This is way too premature and reflects an issue with the original mounts. Honda should cover my repairs expenses and should issue a recall as I understand this is a common recurring problem for Odyssey.”
NHTSA complaint #10970309, filed 2017-04, 61,000 miles“When your driving around 60 to 70 front end starts shaking, vibrating when you let off the gas peddle it stops but when you accelerate it starts again I have read many post of the same issue I have replaced all wheels and same thing is happing”
NHTSA complaint #11100514, filed 2018-06, 150,200 miles“Honda Odyssey rear tailgate struts failed completely, causing the rear tailgate to freefall with no support. Luckily, no one was under the gate when it initially collapsed, but it could have caused serious injury. After researching the problem, I've seen that Honda is voluntarily recalling 2005 models for the same problem, but not the 2006 we own.”
NHTSA complaint #10323264, filed 2010-03, 56,000 miles“Rear automatic door would open then slam down a bit then reopen, slam, reopen and then on third try slam shut. My wife was under the door the first time it happened and the door slammed on her. Now I see a recall of 08,09 models for the same problem. Had to have rear struts replaced. Need to expand recall.”
