“Driving on the freeway and the internal brake system light come on indicating that was any back brake lights, then while driving the vehicle stop going forward light the transmission went into neutral and then the tcs indicator and the engine light come on and then the 2004 Odyssey stopped moving without any indication at all as I was driving in high traffic on a california freeway at approximately 7:30am on my way to work. …”

NHTSA complaint #10563476, filed 2014-02, 173,195 miles

“I was turning right into a parking spot and had my foot on the brake the whole time. When I was more than halfway in the spot, the engine revved and the car plunged forward going over the concrete barrier and into a pole. The airbags did not deploy and thankfully everyone was ok. The officer investigating the crash insisted that my foot must have slipped off the brake pedal but I am positively sure that my foot was on the brake the whole time as it was still on the brake when the car came to a stop after hitting the pole. …”

NHTSA complaint #10864206, filed 2016-05, 181,000 miles

“As I was driving on the freeway my gas pedal no longer worked and I was forced to coast to the side of the road. Honda told me it was a broken throttle cable and did pay for the repairs. I just want to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else because I could have been killed.”

NHTSA complaint #10127096, filed 2005-06, 24,000 miles

“Gas pedal stuck on a very cold day (~10 f). My wife complained that the pedal could not be pushed down at all; she finally got it to move after about 10 minutes of trying. Because we can back down our driveway without pushing on the gas, she didn't notice until the car was already in the street.”

NHTSA complaint #10052808, filed 2004-01, 2,100 miles

“I was driving my Honda '04 Odyssey mini-van on the taconic parkway, ny with my 3 young children when the transmission began to buck, then race then shut down. I slowly hit brakes to a stop, turned the engine off then let the car rest with hazards on for about 5 mins. I then restarted the car, it ran well for a few miles till a hill. Then it bucked, raced again and I pulled off the highway. I was lucky that I was near home and was able to slowly get it to a Honda dealer shop. This is the only time that this has ever happened to the car. …”
