“When maneuvering in low mileage areas, I.e. Driveways, parking lots, my power steering pump does not assist well, if at all. The vehicle makes a noise similar to an rc car with a dying battery and the steering wheel is almost impossible for me to move. In order to get out of a parking space, it can take me up to 10 or so moves because I cannot get the wheel to turn properly.”

NHTSA complaint #10669624, filed 2015-01, 99,000 miles

“Big o euro tire tire tracking with longitudinal road contour changes causing the front of the vehicle to shift right or left. Big o rep said it was an alignment issue. After alignment the tracking was only more pronounced. While passing a vehicle the tracking almost pulled my car into vehicle I was passing.”

NHTSA complaint #10473304, filed 2012-09, 74,000 miles

“I owned my 2005 Honda Odyssey for 2.5 years when the power steering pump failed on my minivan. I paid to have it replaced. 29k miles later it failed again. Honda has since redesigned the part. When this part fails the power steering is dramatically reduced making it virtually impossible to turn the wheel at slower speeds.”

NHTSA complaint #10383138, filed 2011-02, 46,000 miles

“Subaru/Honda dealership refused to acknowledge secondary safety recall for fuel pump module, possible fire and explosion. ($710.31 repair estimate) dealership inspection showed additional safety issues/repairs needed to steering and axles that exceeded $6,000.00 in repairs. Vehicle purchased and sold with no concern for safety or dependability. All trust violated, we can not trust this dealership with repair or service of our vehicles. Dealership refused to acknowledge even after investigation by the ohio attorney general. …”

NHTSA complaint #11315559, filed 2020-03, 203,144 miles

“My 2005 Honda Odyssey has a failed power steering pump. The pump creates a loud whine while driving, more notable in colder weather. Turning can become sluggish at times. It occurs every time we drive the van. I have a quote to repair the pump for $590 plus tax. I will be bringing it in to get repaired soon.”
