“Steering wheel clicks/pops while turning due to a bad bearing, may be corroded, reference TSB no. 16-024. Dealer and Honda say that my model doesn't qualify for repair under warranty, but is potential safety hazard.”

NHTSA complaint #11100225, filed 2018-06, 50,000 miles

“Had problems starting the vehicle earlier in the day - info display showed a warning about multiple systems and wouldn't start the engine. Honda investigated, no fault found, but two cells in battery low. They provided a probable cause of some light left on in the car which drained the battery (which we knew not to be the case). Same fault occurred after leaving dealership, turned off and on a couple of times, and then it restarted. Driving home at approximately 45mph the car turned itself off - no power steering assist and no gas pedal. Managed to wrestle the car to the side of the road. …”

NHTSA complaint #10633523, filed 2014-09, 1,090 miles

“I am submitting this urgent complaint regarding my 2015 Honda Odyssey, equipped with the 3.5L V6 engine referenced in (TSB) 20-023 which acknowledges that the front rocker arm oil control valve (spool valve) gasket may fail and leak engine oil directly onto the alternator located beneath it. This condition can cause alternator contamination, charging system failure, electrical malfunction, and potential fire risk due to oil exposure to electrical components. Despite knowledge of this issue, Honda did not notify vehicle owners and did not initiate a recall. …”

NHTSA complaint #11721126, filed 2026-02

“2015 Honda Odyssey Steering Rack leaked while driving vehicle on the highway and Front Lower Control Arm bushing broke due to age of the vehicle. Honda Dealer has suggested not to drive vehicle until Steering Rack is replaced/fixed. Honda dealer has warned as it is safety hazard to other vehicles on the road. Vehicle component was inspected by Honda Dealer and has recommended to replace Steering Rack as it is leaking. There were no warning lamps, message or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. It was diagnosed by Honda Dealer during multipoint inspection.”
