“The driver’s side rear-view mirror glass started to vibrate two weeks ago. While driving at freeway speed, I noticed the mirror glass tilt/drop down and it looks as if it had come detached from the mirror body itself. I pulled over and was able to “click” the mirror glass back in, but it has vibrated again a few times since. I’m concerned that the glass will detach while on the road.”

NHTSA complaint #11421584, filed 2021-06

“The sunroof exploded, causing the glass to shatter, while driving. The vehicle is available for inspection. The noise from the glass shattering caused ear pain, headache, and tinnitus, which has been evaluated by a doctor. State Farm insurance has aided in the situation. The vehicle is in the body shop for repairs. The sunroof indicated no warning prior to the shattering of the glass.”

The dealer was contacted and stated that the vehicle needed to be diagnosed and advised the contact was referred to a glass company. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 26,000.”

NHTSA complaint #11526230, filed 2023-06, 26,000 miles

“The contact owns a 2022 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that on several occasions while the vehicle was parked, the passenger’s side door was opened, and the passenger’s side mirror fell off the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer on approximately four occasions, and it was determined that the mirror glass needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired each time. The contact believed that the failure was associated with NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V174000 (Visibility). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 38,000.”
