“I was driving (in motion) with my wife and 5 children on a straight, smooth stretch (no curves or lane changes) of eastbound I-84 near burley/rupert, idaho. There was a light drizzle, temp of ~60 f, and no other vehicles within 300 feet front, side, or rear. All windows of the vehicle were closed, and interior temp of the vehicle was ~68 f. We heard a very loud, scary sound -- like a shotgun or as if we had driven under a huge waterfall. I looked around and saw no obvious issues, then looked up and opened the closed sliding sunroof cover. …”

NHTSA complaint #11202872, filed 2019-04, 128,000 miles

“In the end of august the power windows stopped working in our Odyssey. When I dropped the car off at the dealer to fix the windows, the alarm system did not recognize the keys and went off every time the dealer tried to open the door. I brought in my wife's set of keys to see if that would resolve the issue but it did not. The car no longer recognizes either key or key fob and triggers the alarm whenever I unlock and open the doors. …”

“Traveling on the highway, one rock hit the windshield of my 2010, Honda Odyssey. The star crack was about the size of a penny. I contacted my insurance company who sent out safelite to repair the windshield. Safelite inspected and said the windshield could be repaired and then determined that the windshield would need to be replaced. The car is less than 3 years old, has less than 20k miles, was struck by 1, small rock and the windshield needs to be replaced. This is my third Honda, all of them have been struck by rocks, none of the others experienced any damage.”

NHTSA complaint #10483823, filed 2012-11, 19,191 miles

“For the second time in less than 4 months my rear window has exploded into thousands of pieces. The broken bits explode everywhere. First time was 1.15.25. Second time was 5.3.25.I was parked both times. I had other windows/doors either cracked or open. Both times was during 20mph winds.”

NHTSA complaint #11659076, filed 2025-05

“The contact owns a 2010 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH with the moon roof closed it shattered. The contact stated that the shade that covers the moon roof was also closed but if it was open all of the passengers could of been seriously injured. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer to have the moon roof repaired but does not understand why the roof shattered. The dealer stated it was a crack in the moon roof but the contact stated the moon roof had no cracks nor was hit by an object. The failure mileage was 600.”
