“Our 2018 Honda Odyssey elite has intermittent issues with the auto start/stop feature. As context, the car engine will automatically stop when the vehicle is fully stopped, for example at a red light, and a few other conditions are met (brake pedal pressure, battery charge, electrical load). Our vehicle when auto stopped may stall when attempting to resume driving. When the driver releases the brake pedal and pushes the accelerator pedal, the car fails to auto start, or auto starts with warning messages. …”
NHTSA complaint #11413718, filed 2021-04, 46,400 miles“When driving with the adaptive cruise control on the vehicle frequently abruptly decelerates while trying to pass other vehicles. It does not matter if we are behind the vehicle we are trying to pass and pull out in the left lane, or if we are always in the left lane and just approach the vehicle we are trying to pass while always remaining in the left lane like on an interstate. Our vehicle is always safely in our lane and doesn't come anywhere close to the vehicle we are attempting to pass. We have taken the vehicle to have the camera adjusted three times to no avail. …”
NHTSA complaint #11387615, filed 2021-01, 60,000 miles“The power steering stopped working while I was driveing. The lights for power steering, break problem, lane keeping assistant system and lane departure migration lights are all on in the dashboard. The power steering was hard to turn.”
NHTSA complaint #11396461, filed 2021-02, 17,780 miles“The vehicle started to have failing sensors all of a sudden. I tried a new battery but the codes returned. all ADAS systems tied to the camera module all went out. I had 5-7 warning lights for all driving functions. additionally the seat belt buckle is not always clicking in properly. the belt about half the time is not retained in the buckle section.”
NHTSA complaint #11740653, filed 2026-05“While driving the car lurches as it shifts gears. This had gone on for quite some time but no codes have been thrown. This last time the car lurched so badly at the beginning of acceleration that I thought it was going to stall. It did not, but lights began flashing on the dash and when codes were (finally) thrown I was told I needed a new transmission altogether.”
