“Strong fuel odor coming from the engine compartment which is drawn in through the HVAC vents while stopped. It also makes my garage smell like gasoline for hours after the vehicle is shut off. The dealer said they couldn't find a fuel leak. It doesn't do it every time, but most of the time. It's not only nauseating, but also embarrassing because it makes my new Honda smell like an old car with a gas leak.”

NHTSA complaint #11189841, filed 2019-03, 2,800 miles

“Bought this 2019 Honda Ridgeline on 1/2/25. Honda corrected the recall for fuel pump and after that, my car is burning fuel like crazy. Now they said that I need to replace my fuel pump and they said my VIN is not included on the recall for fuel injectors. Honda know that they should recall all their 2019 Honda Ridgeline model and not just a specific VIN. They need to recall this faulty fuel injectors with the new one and honor the 10 years and 150,000 miles fuel injectors warranty on all the 2019 Honda Ridgeline model and not just a specific VIN numbers. …”

NHTSA complaint #11638141, filed 2025-01, 70,437 miles

“There is a persistent smell of fuel after my Ridgeline is warmed up/driven and then parked. The garage itself will smell strongly of gas afterwards and those fumes get pulled into the cabin via the fresh air intakes. When inspecting the engine bay, its smells far more strongly on the passenger side of the engine bay than the drivers.”

NHTSA complaint #11320012, filed 2020-04, 12,000 miles

“Fuel / combustion chamber odors accumulating around engine compartment when vehicle is parked in garage and filling the cabin with nauseating odor. This problem comes and goes with new resolution from dealer. Seem as an engine venting issue. Ongoing problem since new phurchase.”

NHTSA complaint #11321068, filed 2020-04, 10,000 miles

“Truck is getting gas fumes into the cabin intermittently. Smell comes through the A/C-heater vents. Does not happen when outside air circulation is shut off. Making owner get headaches and feel ill. Has been to the dealer twice for this, of which they have not established the issue. This is common for this maker and they have had other class action lawsuits regarding this. Happens when the truck is running. Can be when driving or sitting and idling. Can be at any location. Occasional feul smell outside the vehicle as well when truck is shut off.”
