“Around 25,000 miles front brakes started making screeching noise with regular stopping. I am not a hard breaker. Rotors according do the dealership have developed hot spots. Honda has changed to a coated rotor which cannot be turned. I also have a 2019 Honda ridgeline that has the non coated rotors and have had no problems with front brakes.”
NHTSA complaint #11567361, filed 2024-01“Came up to a turn light, it was green. Went to make the turn and the vehicle slammed on the brakes. No car in front of me. Car behind me had to swerve to avoid hitting me because the car stopped so quickly. Lacerations to my neck from the seatbelt. After the car came to a full stop the light turned red. After light turned green again car moved forward as normal.”
NHTSA complaint #11454265, filed 2022-02“Vehicle automatically slams on brakes, shakes steering wheel out of hands, and won't take throttle causing me to loose control of the vehicle frequently. I does it at 75 mph with no other cars within 10 miles or at 50 mph. All with no other cars within miles. My family will not ride in vehicle cause scared because of un safe technology. I do not feel safe driving this Honda vehicle with this bad technology.”
NHTSA complaint #11560683, filed 2023-12“This happened on the interstate. This happens repeatedly (about once per week) for my spouse, but today was the first time for me. I was changing lanes at about 75 MPH, and the tachometer dropped to zero despite my further depressing the accelerator. I took my foot off and again depressed the accelerator and the engine reengaged. I have not had the dealer look at this yet. There were no warning lamps or other messages in the driver information.”
NHTSA complaint #11623503, filed 2024-11“On 08/23/23 multiple safety warning lights activated on my dashboard. I took my vehicle to my Honda Dealer and after two days it was returned and I was told that it was repaired. The next day while driving the exact same thing occurred and I noticed that the vehicle was not accelerating normally and the brake warning light activated although there were no cars or objects in front of me. I returned to the dealership who kept my vehicle for 5 days returning it to me and telling me that they could not duplicate the error. …”
