“On both 9/27/2004 and 1/13/2006 the rear brake cylinders and shoes had to be replaced because of leaking from the cylinder. On the second occasion, mechanics at doug's lynnwood mazda/Hyundai did not notice the problem on the original visit (12/2/2005), and I had to bring it to their attention in order to get it fixed.”
NHTSA complaint #10156997, filed 2006-05, 38,701 miles“The brake line erupted on the passenger's side while driving. The dealer was notified. The dealer replaced both front rotors and the brake pads within the first 14k miles and refused to check and lubricate both front caliper slides which caused the passenger side brake pad to completely wear down the metal. The passenger side caliper bracket rusted. There was also an engine noise.”

I am getting ready for my fourth brakes on my Accent in the past 18 months. Finally in may of this year (2013) I started noticing that when I would press in the clutch the car would slow as if the brakes were being pressed. We took the car to our shop and they replaced the wheel bearing and brakes, brake lines, master cylinder, or as the mechanic says:, we have replaced everything that we know to replace or repair for this problem . …”
