“On multiple accounts did I find my 2023 Hyundai Elantra SEL rear camera not working. Now it displays a green screen and I’ve tested it but with someone directly right behind me while in reverse (not moving) the sensors aren’t going off. This is a huge safety concern for a lot of people who own Elantras”

NHTSA complaint #11672351, filed 2025-07

“Vehicle is still in my possession and available for inspection upon request. My safety and the safety of others was put at risk due to vibration when braking caused by warped rotors, a vehicle that pulls to one side with an off-center steering wheel, abnormal tire wear including a bald tire with a sidewall bubble, and a transmission that has twice failed and recently felt like it was going to stall while accelerating. …”

NHTSA complaint #11770279, filed 2026-10

“Hi horn and low horn stopped working after 1 1/2 years of driving and only 7000 miles. This is a safety recall because it will fail West Virginia state inspection without the horn working. Also, it puts myself at risk while driving because I can't alert oncoming traffic if they are heading towards me. This could cause an accident. Hyundai Service Center will be inspecting the issue on 05/07/24.”

NHTSA complaint #11586921, filed 2024-05

“2023 Hyundai Elantra SEL. Car has been slow to start this week. When I depress the brake pedal and push to start, it will start then shut off in the middle of starting then I have to try again or it will sputter then fully start but every safety alert and electrical alarm will go off in my car and nothing clears it until I drive for about 5 minutes then they all clear. I went to AutoZone and they said my battery was normal health. …”

NHTSA complaint #11758620, filed 2026-08

“I have a 2023 Hyundal Elantra SEL and my rear camera starts flickering and also goes blank frequently. In fact nowadays it is rarely working. I understand that there was a recall for 2021 and 2022 but not for 2023 yet. However it seems the issue continues with 2023 as well cause when I google I see I am not the only one having this issue. I called the dealership and because I am out of warranty they say they will charge as there is no recall for 2023.”
