“So far since owning this vehicle. I have gone through 7 OEM windshields. I had a 2010 Ford Focus, replaced it with the 2023 Elantra. In 13 years driving the same roads, and only replaced 5 windshields. The windshield thickness needs to be looked into, or what they are made of. Very small rocks are causing the damage, however, what would happen if a much larger rock hit the windshield?”

NHTSA complaint #11566137, filed 2024-01

“on my new car my backup camera has gone out in less than 7000 miles, and from what i have seen is a known defect that the Hyundai line of vehicles have and i want to make it more know of the defunct camera they are selling.”

NHTSA complaint #11572608, filed 2024-02

“Small crack in windshield caused by a twig less than 4 inches long with a diameter smaller than the width of. Finger. Another small crack in windshield. Do not know how it occurred Contacted local windshield repair business and was advised, per manufacturer they only replace the windshield. Looked online and see that the windshield issue is a known defect. I have an elderly father that lives in North Carolina and I’m gonna have to replace my glass because I don’t want another twig to fall in and burst out my entire windshield when I’m driving down the highway”

NHTSA complaint #11576149, filed 2024-03

“I was driving on the turnpike and the truck in front of me was carrying material that caused my windshield to be soiled. I tried to clean but water did not come out of windshield wiper. I had to exit and clean manually. I was surprised no water because the car has only 2,700 miles and is 5 months old. I tried to fill with water but water dripped out. Next day I took to Hyundai dealer who told me rodents ate the hose. They charged me $252.43 to replace hose. I read online many claims against Hyundai for using soy based products in the engine components that attract rodents. …”

“The contact owns a 2023 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated that the reflection from the dashboard caused a glare on the front windshield, obstructing her vision while driving. The contact called the local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 3.”
