“The sun visor on my 2007 Elantra broke, and it happened when I was driving and trying to adjust the visor to shield my eyes from the sun. Specifically, the arm holding the visor in place broke, rending the sun visor inoperable. This is a dangerous defect! This is a major safety concern! I have done my research online, and this is a consistent problem with the 2007 Elantra. Please issue a recall!”

NHTSA complaint #10853845, filed 2016-04, 85,000 miles

“Both sun visors have failed on our 2007 Hyundai Elantra. When the driver's visor fell off while driving down the road, it nearly caused an accident because it was hanging in front of my face, and I couldn't see where I was going. I have since removed the visors altogether, and now have problems driving in the morning or late afternoon due to the sun shining in my face.”

NHTSA complaint #10558392, filed 2014-01, 60,000 miles

“Both sun visor's would randomly fall from its hinge and would block my visibility while driving. The rear brake calipers have never worked. Especially with such low mileage. I have recently had a brake inspection and the front left caliper was the only brake that has been functional for the past 20,000 miles.”

NHTSA complaint #10743268, filed 2015-07, 35,000 miles

“The drivers side sun visor has fallen down several times and has almost caused an accident. The little black wire that powers the light is the only thing that keeps it from falling into my lap. I almost hit a car one time when it fell and it blocked my view. I was in the middle of making a left turn. Someone needs to address this and make it safer to use.”

NHTSA complaint #10472099, filed 2012-08, 75,000 miles

“I was driving slowly, and my driver-side visor broke. This is a significant safety hazard since I cannot successfully block the sun while driving. A quick internet search reveals that this is a common problem with this specific vehicle. Please issue a recall for this safety problem!!!”

NHTSA complaint #10724156, filed 2015-06, 87,899 miles
