“While driving on the freeway at around 70mph I heard a loud bang upon looking around realized my sunroof had blown outward from the center. I know nothing hit it from the inside and nothing fell on top of it either. I was left driving on the freeway with a large hole in the middle of my sunroof with cracked glass all along the sides.”

NHTSA complaint #10948538, filed 2017-01, 55,000 miles

“I was driving down the interstate at about 68mph all of a sudden I heard a large boom. Pulled over to see what happened and notice that my moonroof/sunroof had shattered into a million pieces. The intriguing part was that I was alone with no cars around when the incident happened. The weather was cold, but not extreme the temperature was around 24 degrees.”

NHTSA complaint #10562600, filed 2014-02, 29,000 miles

“We were driving on highway 101 south about 60 MPH when it sounded like someone shot at us only to find that the sunroof imploded on us. Chunks of glass were falling on us while we were driving! Shards of glass were everywhere. My sister found some under my eye, I had to dig glass out of my hand and later the next day I still had glass in my body.”

NHTSA complaint #10521276, filed 2013-06, 3,036 miles

“The windshield washer does not work in below 24 degrees. I have had to stop while driving many times to clean windshield by hand ,putting my self and other drivers in great danger. I have used multiple brands off washer fluids including de-icers with out success. I have been driving for 40 years and have had many vehicles and never had this problem. 2013 Elantra gt (not on drop down list)”

NHTSA complaint #10558203, filed 2014-01, 6,500 miles

“We got in the car and as we drove down the street we noticed the rear window was broken. The entire window had cracks running through it. There were no indentations in the glass or scratches on the vehicle as one would expect if someone or something had impacted the vehicle. This was confirmed by the police department.”
