“The ESC light illuminates periodically and will cause the car to stall while driving straight at speeds as low as 25 MPH. I have had to drive with the ESC system off for safety reasons, because this would be disastrous on the freeway or highway. There are no obd2 codes that are in the system. I changed out the steering flex coupler, because it had disintegrated, and was making steering difficult.”
NHTSA complaint #11403963, filed 2021-03, 128,345 miles“The car intermittently won't start. Sometimes it starts on the second attempt. Sometimes on the fifth. So far, I haven't had to have it towed, but I never know when this is going to happen. I've taken it to the dealer twice and an independent car shop once, and they haven't been able to fix the problem. There are many complaints online about this happening; a recall is needed.”
NHTSA complaint #11014044, filed 2017-08, 33,500 miles“For the sixth time my car wont start.it happens at random times and is very annoying. I am sick of the dealership saying that the car started right up for them or they cant find anything wrong.I have had the battery replaced and it has been fixed for a campaign. All my electric stuff turns on with no problem. Now I am currently missing a day of work that is going to be unpaid.”
NHTSA complaint #10778992, filed 2015-10, 64,000 miles“1. Engine noise (knocking sound, ticking sound) 2. Air conditioning system failed too early and replaced it around 45,000 miles. 3. Axle boot (left side) grease leaked too early (around 50,000 miles) 4. Inner fender (right side) tore down. Replaced 5. Two bubble tires (we changed the tire eight months ago!) replaced 6. Clicking sound on passenger side door when I changed the gear (50,200 miles) 7. Engine mount replacement (35,570 miles)”
NHTSA complaint #11090000, filed 2018-04, 35,000 miles“While driving on the turnpike at 75 MPH my car shut off completely. It jerked violently and then powered back on. This happened in the dark and I didn't have any lights either. This has happened a total of 4 times while driving at speeds of 70 or more. Prior to this the eps light came on I took it in dealer and they couldn't find anything wrong with the car. I haven't taken in to the dealer as it will need to be towed. It is not safe to drive.”
