“The area in my dashboard where my airbag is is starting to split. I have contacted Hyundai and let them know as I feel that this is a safety issue. It is coming open and I am concerned that the airbag will either deploy or not operate correctly if needed. I have seen where this is a common occurance is this vehicle and I feel that it wanrrants a recall.”

NHTSA complaint #11118652, filed 2018-08, 74,000 miles

“On august 4,2017, I rear-ended another a toyota fj cruiser at about 45 MPH, because they came to a sudden stop on a major hwy. However, the airbags never deployed! This is unlike the time, a year or so ago, when I was rear-ended by a mistsubishi outlander, while at a red light on a city street. That time the head rest deployed and I had minor damage to the bumper. I'm disappointed. For a high safety rating, I expected more from Genesis. Very scary when your life is on the line.”

NHTSA complaint #11013964, filed 2017-08, 63,000 miles

“I was backing out of my garage. My son had his car parked behind me. I saw that I was going to have to pull up to get around the parked car. I put my foot on the brake, I then put the car in drive. Took my foot off the gas and it took off at rocket speed. I wasn't completely out of my garage. The car was going so fast and I couldn't stop it. I was 6 ft from the brick wall. I was going so fast that I went through the brick wall and it didn't even slow down. It kept going took out a chain link fence. Then came to a stop and died. …”

NHTSA complaint #11072912, filed 2018-02, 33,000 miles

“My daughter got hit by 2 cars and only the headrest popped opened but no airbags went off. A car hit the car behind her, she was a complete stop, the car that hit the car behind her then hit her on the passenger side (almost like a t-bone). She now has a lot of shoulder, neck and spine issues from getting slammed into the drivers door. If the side airbag would have gone off, she would not be in so much pain from getting hit from behind and 2 seconds later got hit from the side. I see lots of issues on the coupe but not on the sedan models & I feel that others should know this too. …”

NHTSA complaint #11193848, filed 2019-04, 46,000 miles

“Travel on county road lost control of the car hit the brakes and car would not stop crashed into a fence and had damage on front and both side of the car and the air bags did not deploy. The car was considered a total lost by the insurance company but I would like an investigation about the airbags.”
