“I bought the car in jan 2020, and found that it was leaking oil on june 2020, after 4500 miles. The oil leak looks to be significant as I had found drops and puddles on my garage floor. The oil leak seems to be coming from the transmission/engine connection area, or possibly the upper oil pan. The car is currently still in dealer service for repair.”
NHTSA complaint #11329855, filed 2020-06, 4,500 miles“Vibration at speeds of 64/65mph and up. Not sure if driveshaft or transmission. Hyundai has issued a TSB but will not honor it. I have asked 2x for dealer service dept. To evaluate this problem. They said they do not have to honor this TSB. I have seen on forums others are having same problem with cars made in december 2019. It is painful to drive on the highway and I do not know if it is the driveshaft, will it break? Will the transmission fail? …”
NHTSA complaint #11360790, filed 2020-09, 77 miles“While driving on highway 290 west to fredicksburg, texas on april 2,2021, speed limit varies from 50-60 MPH, the vehicle just stopped, all systems were out, message on the screen said take to service, when convenient . It was very scary as the vehicles from behind were honking and I could not get the car to the side. It could have been a major accident with fatalities.”
NHTSA complaint #11406851, filed 2021-04, 15,000 miles“Engine is burning Oil at a rate that requires me to put 2 quarts of full synthetic oil every 2-3 weeks in my car. Hyundai is ignoring this problem and dealership says my engine is burning in a normal range. This is a known issue with these engines at hyundai over the past few years and if it is burning that much oil without any leaks there is no way that is safe.”
NHTSA complaint #11646942, filed 2025-03“Oil consumption causing hesitation and near-stalling. Hard shifting as well. These issues led to dangerous situations where I was afraid to drive the vehicle and feared for my family's safety. Also had a failed A/C compressor which i had to replace out of pocket. These things shouldn't be happening on a 4 year old vehicle.”
