“On 7/22/26 at about 5:15pm, I was operating my vehicle, a 2022 Hyundai Palisade in the Parking lot of Publix Supermarket at Valrico Commons and was attempting to enter a parking space. I made a right from the parking thruway to enter a right parking space. I felt one of the right wheels graze the pedestrian sidewalk as I was driving about 5 miles per hour, next thing the vehicle lunged forward out of control and though I tried applying the brakes, the brakes would not respond. …”
NHTSA complaint #11752389, filed 2026-07“To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally report a serious safety issue involving my Hyundai Palisade related to brake failure. While driving my Hyundai Palisade, I experienced a situation where pressing the brake pedal resulted in little to no braking response. The vehicle did not slow or stop as expected, creating an extremely dangerous situation and a significant risk of collision. This occurred without warning, and the brake pedal did not provide normal resistance or stopping power. …”
NHTSA complaint #11706647, filed 2025-12“I pulled off the highway onto an exit. Midway down the exit, the engine shut off and breaking was impaired. I was able to yank the wheel to the right and pull it off onto the shoulder to avoid a collision. Was able to restart vehicle and get home”
NHTSA complaint #11486019, filed 2022-09“Labor Day weekend I was two hours away from home. Before leaving town my automatic collision breaking system decided to go off and start breaking. There was absolutely no one in front of me. The entire weekend about seven or eight times my vehicle put me in extreme danger going at all speeds putting myself in my Assistan danger of dying and flying through the windshield. When I got back to town and made an appointment at North Freeway, Hyundai in Spring they lied and claimed there was front and damage and that the bracket was loose. …”
NHTSA complaint #11764836, filed 2026-09“I went to stop at an intersection, and the car started vibrating, the antilock blocks engaged, but it would not slow the car down, depressing the brakes further would not cause the car to slow down, and I had to swerve off the road to keep from hitting the car in front of me. The power steering seem to be affected because the steering wheel was vibrating, and it was hard to steer it off the road to prevent a collision. The road was smooth, and there did not seem to be any apparent reason for whatever malfunction was going on.”
