“Yet again the wipers failed to operate with a small amount of snow buildup on the wiper arm. I see a recall for the 2020 and 2021 Hyundai Palisades but not for my 2022. I feel this is extremely dangerous and needs to be remedied ASAP. Having to pull over on a busy snowy highway to clear the snow buildup just to get the wipers to work is a catastrophe waiting to happen.”
NHTSA complaint #11497343, filed 2022-12“As I was driving on the freeway the sun roof spontaneously exploded. Nothing hit the vehicle, there were no cars or trucks around me tossing debris and I was not under an overpass. Temperature was around 55 degrees, it was raining off and on throughput the day, not raining at the time of the incident.”
NHTSA complaint #11509167, filed 2023-02“We were driving down the road and heard a loud pop and then heard glass falling onto the sunroof sunshade. My sunroom exploded out of nowhere, nobody in front of me, no trees or structures above us. Just spontaneously shattered.”
NHTSA complaint #11750967, filed 2026-07“Our new 2022 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy with 1200 miles windshield spontaneously cracked in the middle after warming it with the remote car starter in the morning. There was no rock chip or hit the night before when we drove it. It just split, possibly because of warming up a cool windshield.”
NHTSA complaint #11462945, filed 2022-05“My driver windshield wiper stop working when driving. It was snowing out and it stopped working. Dealership has been notified. Put myself and my children in the car at risk because I was unable to see out the window. There was no warning light that came on, did not smell differently, just stopped working. Nothing has been inspected as it happened less than 24 hrs ago. Dealer has been notified. They said someone will call me back. Have not heard from the device manager yet.”
