“In my 2022 Hyundai palisade calligraphy AWD, the third row power fold seats did not stop upon closing while testing it out on water bottles. It completely shut over two gallon jugs of distilled water, as well as a case of water. I believe there are more vehicles that this 3rd row power fold recall should branch over, and is not. So many children and animals are at risk and are not aware.”
NHTSA complaint #11728693, filed 2026-04“I am writing to report a compliance issue regarding Hyundai Recall 292 (NHTSA 26V-034). My vehicle has been grounded due to the safety risks outlined in this recall (specifically the failure of side curtain airbags to meet ejection mitigation standards for third-row occupants). Despite the vehicle being rendered unusable for safe transport, Hyundai is refusing to provide or reimburse a rental vehicle. …”
NHTSA complaint #11731979, filed 2026-04“I tested the 3rd row in my Palisade Calligraphy 2022 after a death of a little girl happened in a 2026 model. I placed a case of water bottles in the seat, where my children have ridden so many times before on trips. Watched the seat go down, not one time did the sensor trigger. The water bottles were crushed. This is terrifying findings. It means its not just Hyundais 2026 problems, this is much bigger of an issue. Please please please look into this.”
NHTSA complaint #11727482, filed 2026-03“The 3rd row power seats do not always recognize something or someone sitting there and will continue to fold down. After seeing the reports of a little girl passing away we wanted to test our 3rd row power seats. We placed a car seat in the 3rd row and it did recognize that and stopped folding. Next, I sat in the seat and my husband pushed the fold button and it kept trying to fold down on me until I pushed back with a good amount of force, a child would not be able to prevent the chair from stopping. …”
NHTSA complaint #11731526, filed 2026-04“Hyundai has had an active recall involving seat belts for several months. I have attempted to have this repair to no avail. I started with my local dealership and was told the parts to make this repair are not available. I have filed a complaint with Hyundai of America and have a case manager who calls me every few weeks to says that the parts continue to be back ordered. My concern is that Hyundai is not dealing with this recall in good faith. I take my young grandchildren to school every morning and fear for their safety.”
