“While coming to a complete stop at a red light, the brake pedal went all the way to the floor. Luckily I was very close to home, but I had to depress the brake pedal very early at all remaining stops for the remainder of the trip. Upon further inspection, I discovered the right rear brake line has developed a leak above the suspension sub-frame.”

NHTSA complaint #11076489, filed 2018-03, 83,000 miles

“Have had an ongoing issue with brake lights going out... Stop lamp switch has been replaced 4 times in the last 5 years. Now I don't have brake lights .... Something is very very wrong with Hyundai's electrical system of course Hyundai says my car is not affected by any recall... And I have to pay them to find out what is wrongs with the car”

NHTSA complaint #10544724, filed 2013-09, 60,000 miles

“I'm having a few issues with my car. Some of the issues I'm having are: my lighting/headlights, my fuel lines are completely rusted out and cause gas to leak from my vehicle, it sometimes will not start or turn all the way over, and the brakes on my car. I have looked up some recalls for my specific type of car and some of them match the issues of which I'm currently having. All of the issues I have are very dangerous and would be dangerous for other drivers around me.”

NHTSA complaint #11204832, filed 2019-04, 204,523 miles

“When I started the car in the morning the( eco off) light came on, and there was no power, but the engine was still on. I pulled over to the side of the road, shutoff the ignition, when I started the car again, everything was normal. The check engine light was on. It happens every time that the car is parked overnight. The solution is always the same, pull over and cutoff the ignition for a few seconds.”

NHTSA complaint #10630142, filed 2014-09, 75,720 miles

“The first thing I noticed was the engine was dying when I came to a stop at a red light, with the engine idling, the car in drive and my foot on the brake. I started to put the car in neutral when I had to come to a stop, so the engine wouldn't sputter, and then back in drive when I wanted to go. After about a day or 2, the engine started revving when I put it in drive or reverse, and the brake wasn't strong enough to stop the car. I took it to my Hyundai dealer, who said it needed a new transmission (specifically torque converter). …”
