“While driving my Sonata an error appeared on my dashboard stating 'hybrid system warning! Safely stop and do not drive. Check brakes. When this occurs the gas pedal goes to the floor and the brakes grinds my tires. U can hear a loud chiming like sound coming from the car. I'm reading this issue with a number of Sonata hybrid.”

Then it started to slow down to around 10 miles an hour and new message was hybrid system warning do not drive. If I was not on the end lane I would have been in an accident. My kids and partner are traumatized. Very dangerous design needs to be looked at.”

I went to push on the brake to start the car and noticed the brake pedal was hard(stiff), I went to pull off and really noticed that I was not able to push on the brake pedal to stop the car. I have taken the car to the shop to see what is wrong with it”

And it constantly makes a knocking noise that Hyundai is unable to fix. Also I had my brakes changed and when I come to a sudden stop, the brakes lock up and make a loud thud noise.”
NHTSA complaint #11331651, filed 2020-06, 113,000 miles“My vehicle stopped on the side of the road in oncoming traffic and caused a back up because of my power brake system failing when it should have still been in good condition because I had just purchased my vehicle 7 months ago. The brake light came on made my car slow all the way down doesn’t go over 15 mph and has a skidding sound when braking and it happened again in the street away from home. And this has been seen in multiple vehicles such as the one I have.”
