I am afraid to go very far for fear I won't be able to start the car and get home. My driveway is gravel and a little bit of an incline. Today was the 3rd time in this week.”
NHTSA complaint #11360989, filed 2020-09, 298 miles“My car started making a growing sound when I press the gas it gets louder and louder as I drive . It almost sounds like a lawn mower it's been 3 days now and it's also as of tonight struggled to turn on and when it did the growing sound was exaggeratingly loud . So if I drive it sounds bad and when it's parked and gets turned on the sound is bad it's a lose lose”
NHTSA complaint #11376783, filed 2020-11, 165,000 miles“My engine started making a knocking noise that eventually cut the engine off while in motion. Now when everytime I cut the car on it makes a knocking sound then eventually cut off”
NHTSA complaint #11406692, filed 2021-04, 126,000 miles“As I was driving on the highway at 75 miles an hour in severe traffic car started to make noise and blink check brake. Then it started to slow down to around 10 miles an hour and new message was hybrid system warning do not drive. If I was not on the end lane I would have been in an accident. My kids and partner are traumatized. Very dangerous design needs to be looked at.”

We pulled over to the shoulder of the highway. After having the car towed to the Hyundai dealership we found out that metal shavings in the oil meant that we needed to replace the engine”
