“My ITMS has failed. It’s happened 5 times now where My car will say it’s over heating and go into limp mode. Then within seconds it will act like nothing happened and drive normal. My fan runs constantly and my oil temp is always high. The dealer has refused to fix the problem even with multiple repair sheets from other owners who’ve had the same problems”

NHTSA complaint #11526905, filed 2023-06

“While entering the Highway as I began to accelerate. The car symbol Engine over heating was flashing on the dash board. It was close to the H on the dash board. I pulled off the road. The Car cooled immediately. After I turned the car off to get gas, the Check Engine light came on. The light is still on”

NHTSA complaint #11519663, filed 2023-04

“Driving on the highway ih35N at 75 mph, my car's engine randomly started violently jerking and then shut off and wouldn't start back up. Had it towed to Hyundai (2022 Hyundai Sonata ~33k miles) took a few days but they repaired it under warranty saying it was bad fuel injectors and they replaced all 4. My car just dying on the highway could of caused a bad accident at that speed. Moving to present day (June 28th, 2025) car is at 56,400 miles and its starting to jerk at low speeds and is getting terrible gas mileage again. …”

“While I was driving the vehicle late last year (2022) I pulled out of the parking lot of my office and my vehicle did not accelerate even though I was pressing the gas pedal. I pulled over, turned off the car, restarted the car, and everything was normal again. This morning (8/15/23) as my wife was driving my son to school, the car did the same thing and the vehicle did not accelerate even though the gas pedal was pressed and the RPM's were registering but there was no drive power. She had to pull over and restart the car as well.”

NHTSA complaint #11538551, filed 2023-08

“Car has been running great. We ave had the car almost 3 months. My wife drove the car to church. On the way home the car engine started acting up. She pulled over and called me. I went to where she was about 1 mile from home . My son and I got the car started it would not hardly run we got it home. It was running roughly and smelled like gas making white smoke. A rollback truck picked it up the next day. Took it to the closest dealer in cape Girardeau mo. It has been in the shop3 weeks found out today it will be over another week before Hyundai gets in touch with the dealer about the problem. …”
