“I rear ended a car infront of me that had stopped abruptly, I was going about 30 MPH and the impact was so hard I slammed my chest on the steering wheel, it ended up doing 13,000 dollars of damage to the front end but not one airbag deployted.”

NHTSA complaint #11270577, filed 2019-10, 18,000 miles

“The red airbag light on dash turns on and off randomly while driving. This is the red airbag light...not the passenger airbag light. We have had it fixed 3 times at the dealer, and it continues to happen. We have had the drivers seat airbag sensor replaced, passenger seat cushion assy-fr seat replaced, and codes reset. Specifically gds code b1490 and pods reset. The codes were reset march 14, 2014 and on march 22, 2014 the red airbag light began turning on and off again. We know Hyundai has had airbag problems in the past. That is why we are reporting this complaint. …”

Drivers left side, hip and head made direct impact with door and window. Force of impact was enough to snap an axel and shift entire engine block. Tucson spun 180 degrees after being struck. State trooper and truck driver estimated speed of truck at impact at about 35-40mph. Impact occurred while Tucson was stationary and waiting to turn left from parkhill ave. Onto wadsworth blvd. In littleton, co. …”

NHTSA complaint #11240672, filed 2019-07, 50,000 miles

“My airbags did not deploy during an accident in which my car was completely totaled. I was at a complete stop on the highway when I was rear-ended at full speed, which caused my vehicle to ricochet onto the one ahead of me. Two serious impacts and not one airbag.”
