“My car will not shift out of park. I was getting gas and when I started the car I could not move it out of park. I checked the manual and followed the instructions to press the shift lock system and then it moves out of park. If I put it back in park it locks again. It was running fine no issues prior. I know there were recalls for my car so am worried this is a huge safety issue for myself and children.”

NHTSA complaint #11342724, filed 2020-08, 98,584 miles

“Bought car in dec 2017. July 8, 2018, car caught on fire while driving. No issues before this event. No warning, care just went up in flames starting from under the car/the engine. There have been recalls on other models of Hyundai cars, but they do not include Hyundai tuscons. I think this needs to be investigated before someone loses their life due to this car.”

NHTSA complaint #11110247, filed 2018-07, 65,000 miles

“Vehicle has dead battery when sitting a couple days since day one from new (2014). Been to shop (dealer) numerous times without any improvement. Ip junction box and battery were replaced in 10/ 2015 and battery checked ok 10/17, but still gets dead battery now and then when sitting 2 days”

NHTSA complaint #11055919, filed 2017-12, 24,679 miles

“I brought my car to dealership three times in two month period time. The first time was because car wasn’t starting and I need to replace spark plugs , second time was because camshaft position sensor and now the engine has failed”

NHTSA complaint #11581843, filed 2024-04

“The engine malfunctioned within the first 8 months of me purchasing the vehicle. It just randomly stopped working one day. The dealership was able to succesfully replace the engine under warranty (at least that’s what they told me they did) however, the same issue arose another 8 months later. I’ve done everything I needed to do as far as getting the oil changed and maintaining the vehicle. The engine light would repeatedly flash on and off so I assumed it was a malfunction because I just had the engine replaced. …”
