“My car has an engine oil leak that has been happening for over a year now since I bought it. I have to change my oil every 2,000 miles because of the leak, when Ive been told this car should be changing its oil for every 7,000 miles. My passenger door no longer opens from the outside once my car is unlocked. I have to put my window down in order to get inside and this is a safety hazard.”
NHTSA complaint #11545801, filed 2023-09, 101,795 miles“The car seems to be acting as if there is an electrical fault. All of the safety sensors on the car are flashing and the power steering does not work. My wife and I currently are stationed overseas in italy and the Hyundai dealership said to take it to hyuandai for repair. The Hyundai dealership here refuses to touch it or even reply to us. The vehicle is not driveable.”
NHTSA complaint #11400082, filed 2021-03, 100,000 miles“The rear passenger door will not open from the interior or the exterior. It was parked and I tried to open the door and it will not move. This is a huge safety issue because you cannot get out that door. This happened to 2 other doors also. One was covered because it was still under warranty, it is now past my warranty.”
NHTSA complaint #11407886, filed 2021-04, 112,000 miles“My 2016 Hyundai Tucson front passenger door will not open from the outside. I have to open it from the inside. My back right passenger door was not able to open from either inside or outside and I had to have it replaced at the dealership. This is a major safety issue, and it appears that this happens a lot with this make and model. Nhtsa should really look into this and issue a recall.”
NHTSA complaint #11399630, filed 2021-03, 76,800 miles“My child or anyone in the rear passenger side can not get out of their door because the door will not open at all even when unlocked this has been like this for 4 days no matter what I try the door will not open. This is not a malfuction this is acutally a safely hazzard. My child is traumatized and has nightmares because he fears he will die if there is a fire in the car he is autistic.”
