“While driving on highway going 65 MPH my car 22 Hyundai Tucson SEL dashboard lights turned red and shut off on the highway with no warning, was not able to put in park for 10 minutes. My safety was put at risk, the vehicle stopped mid drive on the highway with other vehicles. Dealership has not fixed or looked at the issue.”
NHTSA complaint #11676949, filed 2025-07“When My wife was driving our car on the highway today to work, the car suddenly threw a check hybrid system - pullover safely light when she was at highway speeds. She was able to luckily pull over quickly onto the shoulder before the car completely powered down. This is incredibly dangerous. She had to click on the reset 12 volt hybrid battery button in the car to get it started again but the complete loss of power at highway speed was very upsetting.”
NHTSA complaint #11716585, filed 2026-02“I have a lot of questions. I bought the best trim car for safety, but as a result, nothing worked. The damage to my family caused by this was a lot of damage mentally and physically, and it took a lot of time for these results to come out. That ended my view of Hyundai/Kia as a Korean American living in the U.S. I will never repurchase a Korean car. I suspect a sudden acceleration. I decided to report to NHTSA/BBB/Hyundai Motor America/FTC.”
NHTSA complaint #11557804, filed 2023-12“I was driving and as I tried to turn a corner the steering wheel locked and became extremely difficult to steer. A few warning symbols came up on the dashboard. All of the lights for the advance driver assistance systems came on. I could not steer the car.”
NHTSA complaint #11505553, filed 2023-02“I was driving and came to a stop to make a right turn. I put on the turn signal and nothing happened. I drove to where I could pull over and I tried the flashers and they worked so I turned the car off. I then turn on the car and still no turn signals inside and outside. I drove to where I was going and we ate supper. When I came back about 1 1/2 hours, I turned on the car and tried the turn signals and there worked. It's been almost a week and it hasn't happened again.”
