“I was driving and as I tried to turn a corner the steering wheel locked and became extremely difficult to steer. A few warning symbols came up on the dashboard. All of the lights for the advance driver assistance systems came on. I could not steer the car.”

NHTSA complaint #11505553, filed 2023-02

“I bough my new suv around 4 to 5 months ago. Since i bought it and this only happened about 3 times. I was on highway and with no cars on the highway and myself going 70 the collision in the front came on and emergency breaking saying im about to hit something. But nothing was there. This also happened when i reversed too. The brakes would slam on saying collision. Also when im driving in a straight line the lane detection moves me in the middle of the road to the white lines are under my car and i am driving on 2 lanes. …”

How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? > I lose access to all safety systems and am unable to see anything on my dashboard while every single light flashes on the dash. …”

NHTSA complaint #11663342, filed 2025-05

“2022 Hyundai Tuscon abruptly locks steering wheel while driving to the point you cannot turn the steering wheel. Many different types of warnings appear on the dash from blind spot warning to front end collision. luckily, we were going at a moderate speed, I was driving and forced the wheel to turn enough to get off the road. If this happens to a woman while driving, they will most likely not be able to turn the wheel at all with zero control of the vehicle. Extremely dangerous life-threatening situation, and dealer has been notified. The vehicle has to be towed as it's a major safety risk. …”

NHTSA complaint #11502116, filed 2023-01

“Warning lights and messages for the Blind Spot Safety System and Rear Cross Traffic Safety System appear in driver information display. Those systems failed to function. Took to dealer for diagnosis/repair. After dealership working on vehicle both systems fail to function.”
