“Forward collision assist is dangerous. It engages when not necessary and has almost caused several wrecks by slamming on the brakes. There needs to be a way to permanently disable and not have to pick through a series of menus every time. Also, lately I feel like I’m fighting the lane keep assist when I’m on the highway, and it tries to move when not necessary.”
NHTSA complaint #11739419, filed 2026-05“The constant and on and off Consider Taking a Break warnings are VERY distracting. I'm driving safely and attentively, and these even come on sometimes when I'm JUST starting to drive (why do I need to take a break if I haven't driven in over a day?). Unnecessary alarm that does NOT do when it says it does and overrides any other sound or alarm I should actually be listening to.”
NHTSA complaint #11731118, filed 2026-04“This vehicle has a notification Consider taking a break. It activates every 20-30 minutes, even though I am a safe driver. It is distraction to driving, whith is less safe than the warning itself. I would like for you to contact Hyundai to find a way to disconnect this, for they say it can not be disabled. Diosabling can be done on older models, but not newer models. I have a 2025 Hyundai Tuscon. It is a sfety hazard.”
NHTSA complaint #11654474, filed 2025-04“Dec 24, 2025 I started my and went a very short distance down the road, my entire dash display went completely black. It stayed this way for about 5 to 10 minutes and I pulled over and turnd the car off and back on, pretty scary”
NHTSA complaint #11715526, filed 2026-02“The “consider taking a break” message flashes and dings which startles and distracts me and is not safe while I’m driving. It does this even when I am driving safe.”
