“We have had two starburst cracks from very small rocks hitting our windshield on the highway and chips from tiny hail. I have never had a car with such a fragile windshield before. We are constantly worried that it would break easily while driving if something larger hits it.”
NHTSA complaint #11749821, filed 2026-07“On 08/31/2025, I was involved in an accident while driving my 2025 Hyundai Tucson. While attempting to change lanes at highway speed, the driver behind me failed to see my turn signal and collided with my vehicle. I believe the cause was the unusually low placement of the rear bumper-mounted turn signals, which creates a direct visibility flaw. The Tucson’s turn signals are mounted low on the rear bumper instead of at eye level within the taillight assembly. …”
NHTSA complaint #11684252, filed 2025-09“I crossed red light, truck coming from my left , I hit his car side , he hit my front car , my airbag didn't open although it is totally loss , despite the other car air bag opened”
NHTSA complaint #11704324, filed 2025-12“The contact owns a 2025 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while exiting the vehicle, he opened the front driver's door and scraped his leg on the edge of the door. The contact stated that shortly after, he and his wife noticed a significant amount of blood coming from the cut. The contact sought medical attention a few days later. The contact's wife added that the contact was diabetic and takes blood thinners. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a complaint was filed, and an engineer was sent to take pictures of the vehicle. …”
NHTSA complaint #11699861, filed 2025-11, 13,000 miles“The underbody shield is held up partially by plastic nuts that get loose casing the shield to rattle at speed over 60mpg. I read multiple reports from other owners on reddit. Tightening these plastic nuts help ressolve the rattle temporarly, but the nuts are flimsy and keep spinning. You can't really tighten them well. A good remedy from Hyundai would be to replace these flimsy plastic nuts with metal ones that stay tightened and secure the underbody shield in place. Dealer wasn't helpful and wanted to charge $200 just to look at it”
