“Rear doors are stuck in closed position. The door locks operate, I can hear it click and I can see it move but the doors do not release. With two small children stuck in the rear of the car, this is a danger. Further research online indicates people have experienced this with all 4 doors, so we are driving in fear until we can get this fixed. This is dangerous.”

NHTSA complaint #11394832, filed 2021-02, 60,000 miles

“The rear passenger door of my vehicle will not open. I cannot open it from the outside or inside. It seems to be an issue with the door not unlocking even though the unlock tab is flipping. A quick google search shows many others with the same vehicle have the same issue. This is a huge safety hazard in the event of an emergency.”

NHTSA complaint #11404567, filed 2021-03, 56,000 miles

“The door latches randomly stop working and passengers cannot enter or exit vehicle. Started with my rear door so I had the door lock actuator replaced and now the problem is happening to the front doors. I have friends with the same vehicle same year and are having the same issues with all the doors. This could be very dangerous at the wrong time.”

NHTSA complaint #11277811, filed 2019-11, 44,000 miles

“My child or anyone in the rear passenger side can not get out of their door because the door will not open at all even when unlocked this has been like this for 4 days no matter what I try the door will not open. This is not a malfuction this is acutally a safely hazzard. My child is traumatized and has nightmares because he fears he will die if there is a fire in the car he is autistic.”

NHTSA complaint #11404351, filed 2021-03, 46,469 miles

“Left rear door will not open from inside or outside. Vehicle was parked in our garage. It will not open when Tucson is running or ignition is off. Right rear door has also had this problem periodically. There is no way to get out of backseat. I have gone to multiple websites and this is a recurring problem Tucson owners. I have even called the dealership and they said this is a common problem.”
