“I was driving at 730 am with not very many people on the road. And my car was loud like a window was rolled down. And I saw something fly off the roof of my car like a sheet of ice, but it was in the 50's outside. I tried rolling the windows up, but they were all rolled up. And I kept hearing rumblings over my head. I waited til I was back on a surface street at a stop light and opened the sunroof and saw that my sunroof was broken and the rumblings were the pieces of glass that had shattered. I just had my vehicle's safety inspection done on 11/05/2020 by triple a.”

“The paint on my 2018 Hyundai Tucson began peeling off the side mirrors and the shark-fin antenna on the roof. I have found that many other Hyundai owners are experiencing the same issue. It appears to be a widespread manufacturing defect related to improper paint adhesion, and I believe it should be addressed even though my vehicle is out of warranty.”

NHTSA complaint #11659341, filed 2025-05

“My car has paint chipping away in several areas. In my opinion, there is an issue with the type of paint used on my car. I am so hurt that I had to spend all this money on a new vehicle and when it was almost paid off, the paint was coming off. It is no fault of mine because there are toooo many areas all over the vehicle where there are chip areas forming. The biggest, most noticeable area01 is on my hood.”

NHTSA complaint #11627151, filed 2024-11

“On October 13th 2025, we were involved in a serious collision while driving our 2018 Hyundai Tucson. The vehicle was struck from behind and spun into a semi-truck, totalling the vehicle. Despite the forward and lateral collision to the semi-truck, no airbags deployed at all during the accident. This resulted in the Tucson driver striking his head on the steering wheel. Our 5-month old son was also on-board the vehicle in his car seat. While everyone walked away from the accident, both adults passengers had whiplash/minor neck injuries that could have been mitigated by airbags deploying. …”

NHTSA complaint #11694065, filed 2025-10

“The trunk hatch opens up without warning and without us pressing the open trunk button on the remote. This has happened several times when the car has been stationary and when we were driving out of a parking lot. The trunk even opened on it's own while the remote had been placed upright on the ground! Also the trunk opened on it's own when it was parked in our garage with the engine off and as we have a low garage door, the paintwork was scratched on the trunk door when it opened up against it. …”
