“I was parking in a parking garage and had to make a right turn into a space with cars on both sides. When I normally park, my foot is over the brake and I tap the brake as I go in. In this case, as soon as I began turning right, my car took off like a shot. It felt like a car being floored. I barely missed one of the cars and slammed into a concrete wall, making a 4 x 6 hole in the wall and setting off the air bag in the steering wheel. The car was smoking and I immediately shut it off so there would be no fire.”

NHTSA complaint #10918950, filed 2016-10, 19,000 miles

“The car was parked in the driveway friday 11/23/2018 at about 3:30 pm. The next day, sat, 11/24/2018 about 12:45, a boy banged on the front door of the house and told wife the car was on fire. She came and got me from the back yard and I ran around to the driveway. I seen flames around the driver's side rear quarter, the wheel well, and the gas cap. I grabbed a fire extinguisher from the garage and sprayed it at the gas cap area. The wife said the fire department was on their way. I used the extinguisher and the wife brought me another one. I used them to try and keep the gas cap cool. …”

NHTSA complaint #11155753, filed 2018-12, 39,000 miles

“Rear passenger door handle stopped working. Door locks and unlocks but the door won't open. This is a serious safety issue that could lead to entrapment of a passenger. Problem is NOT intermittent and a local mechanic confirmed it. Vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer or anyone else other than my mechanic.”

NHTSA complaint #11436293, filed 2021-10

“Rear driver door does not open. The door has not been damaged but just stopped opening. It’s a safety issue because if something was to happen they could be stuck in the car.”
