“The contact owns a 2004 Hyundai xg 350. The contact stated that while driving at 15 MPH, the steering wheel became very difficult to turn and the front driver's side wheel seized. The contact was unable to turn the vehicle, which caused the contact to crash into a street pole. A police report was not filed and there were no injuries reported. The vehicle was towed to contacts residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign id number: 09v124000 (suspension). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. …”
NHTSA complaint #10618686, filed 2014-08, 119,000 miles“The contact owns a 2004 Hyundai XG350. The contact stated that while driving 45 MPH the power steering failed. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, and a technician concluded that the bolts attaching the steering assembly separated from the cross member. The vehicle was repaired. Also he stated his VIN number was excluded from recall # 09v124000 (suspension). However he is experiencing similar problems, that if not resolved poses a potential safety hazard. The failure mileage was 95,000. The current mileage was 107,000.”
