“There is visible rust/corrosion damage of the front sub- frame of my vehicle. The front subframe has thinned at rusted location. The rusted sub-frame is chewed half of my sub-frame. I am worried that corrosion may progress and may detach from the sub-frame, eventually increasing safety risk. I have noticed steering pull.”

NHTSA complaint #11253914, filed 2019-09, 152,000 miles

“I was driving and rusted subframe collapsed control arm & right axel broke also power steering belt broke. I was able to get over nearly having an accident. I had my car repaired in 2010 as per recall yet I tried to push for sub frame replacement over repair at that time with no luck. I believe these sub frames that were repaired should be replaced. This is an extremely dangerous situation I could have been killed!”

NHTSA complaint #10559216, filed 2014-01, 136,000 miles

“The air bag light came on when I moved the passenger seat. Mechanics can make the light go out by resetting the codes...however the light comes back on after a while and always when the passenger seat is moved. There are a great many similar complaints for Hyundai XG350 2003, 2004 and 2005, yet the company does nothing about it. Haven't they learned from GM? Also where is the NHTSA . Surely they see these complaints all over the web? I'm told that the air bags will not deploy while the light is on. …”

NHTSA complaint #10579032, filed 2014-04, 45,021 miles

“I was driving from virginia to new york on route 17 to route 81. I exited to get to a gas station. While turning left from a four-lane road into the gas station, my vehicle made a crashing sound and stopped in the middle of on-coming traffic. It felt like we hit something big. I could not move the car. We had it towed to a garage, where we learned the cv axle had snapped. They also had to replace rs spindle and rs ball joint because they had rusted out. There was cosmetic damage done to body when the axle broke and the car went down hard.”

NHTSA complaint #10576856, filed 2014-04, 120,000 miles

“Right wheel fell off in traffic due to rust of k-frame. Vehicle has less than 70,000 miles and is less than seven year old. It is a 2004 Hyundai XG350 purchased and operated solely in the state of kentucky. There is a recall notice for this model vehicle of this year for all the states surrounding kentucky, I did not get that notice. I understand that there was a settlement made for those states outside of kentucky. If the wheel had fallen off 20 seconds later I probably would have been killed. Police were present but no report was made.”
