“My airbag warning light comes on and will not go out. I took my car to capitol heights Hyundai dealer in maryland and was told that my passenger airbag did not have suspension. The cost to repair this will be $3400.00. I believe that this should be a recall on the airbag on the passenger side. Was also told that there is a part to the airbag that is a recall but of course my code did not fall within this repair. There must be a better way to handle this.”
NHTSA complaint #10583324, filed 2014-04, 75,506 miles“What would cause the indicator for my airbag light came on and will not go off. What should I do? My mileage odometer has done rolled over one time, the above mileage is the current miles = 131679 what do I need to do?”
NHTSA complaint #10717733, filed 2015-05, 131,679 miles“The air bag light came on when I moved the passenger seat. Mechanics can make the light go out by resetting the codes...however the light comes back on after a while and always when the passenger seat is moved. There are a great many similar complaints for Hyundai XG350 2003, 2004 and 2005, yet the company does nothing about it. Haven't they learned from GM? Also where is the NHTSA . Surely they see these complaints all over the web? I'm told that the air bags will not deploy while the light is on. …”
NHTSA complaint #10579032, filed 2014-04, 45,021 miles“I have a Hyundai XG350 2004 model. I have had it in for service with the air bag light 10 times. They have replaced the seat belt, seat base sensor, seat back assembly and the steering wheel clock spring. Do you think it is safe to drive, will it deploy in case of a crash?”
NHTSA complaint #10228823, filed 2008-05, 1,000 miles“Airbag light came on in 2011 and was told entire seat had to be removed to stop light. Could not afford the cost. Returned to dealer again in 2014 as had read connector under seat might be disconnected which could be causing the problem and dealer found this to be true and secured the connected and the light went out; however, within few weeks, light came back on and has remained on since. I did not ask the dealer about it again, knowing I would have to pay for a major take-out of the seat to correct. Overall, the light has been on for at least 5 years. I am the original owner. …”
