NHTSA complaint #11362297, filed 2020-10, 53,000 miles

“Total lack of acceleration when passing. There is a 2-3 second delay prior to the downshift and I'm never sure when the acceleration will take place. This problem occurs from 50mph and up. I have had this problem since I purchased the car and it has not changed over time. Infinity reprogrammed the ECM and no improvement was noted. I gave up on their service support. Thanks”

NHTSA complaint #11076011, filed 2018-03, 18,000 miles

“Have owned the car slightly over a year. Since the beginning the transmission has shifted erratically, is in 4th gear at 25 MPH. When stepping on gas the car hesitates while trying to pick a gear. There is no power at low speeds because the car is in too high a gear. At higher speeds if you touch the brakes the car drops two or three gears causing the car to shake violently from the downshift. The engine knocks constantly at low speeds due to the gearing even though premium fuel is required. Dealer has tried to repair and applied software patch that took almost a year to receive but no help. …”

“The contact owns a 2012 Infiniti M37. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle hesitated upon depressing the accelerator pedal without warning. The contact also stated that while driving on an incline, the vehicle lost power upon depressing the accelerator pedal and rolled backward, forcing the contact to depress the accelerator pedal to the floorboard to maintain momentum and resume driving. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with the Intelligent Power Distribution Module (IPDM) relay. …”

“The contact owns a 2012 Infiniti M37. The contact stated that the transmission hesitated and exhibited a loud bang when shifting. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and the vehicle was test driven. The dealer re-programmed the transmission control module and the engine control module. The contact stated that the vehicle performed well for a while but the failure soon recurred. The vehicle had not been taken back to the dealer. The contact spoke with the manufacturer and was told that there was a design flaw within the vehicle but a remedy was not yet available. …”
