“I received a safety recall notice from the manufacturer dated february 28, 2018. It states that parts for the remedy won't be available until march 31, 2019. Due to the severity of the recall I don't believe this is a reasonable timeframe for a fix. What are my options or rights as a consumer that is concerned with the safety of my family?”
NHTSA complaint #11092127, filed 2018-05“I was notified via letter dated feb 28, 2018 by Jaguar that my Jaguar XF was included in safety recall j072 takata passenger airbags. The letter states: due to prolonged exposure to combined high heat and humidity, the front passenger airbag module inflator housing may explode and deploy abnormally in the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the front passenger airbag. In such event, a front passenger airbag module inflator housing explosion could result in sharp metal fragments striking the passenger or other occupants, resulting in serious injury or death. …”
