“Recently, while on I-75 n in atlanta, ga a vehicle swerved in front of me. I veered to avoid impact and the drivers seatbeat buckle on my vehicle became dislodged and has not worked properly since this date.”

NHTSA complaint #10075112, filed 2004-06, 162,000 miles

“1995 Jeep Cherokee 4.0l. Replaced the exhaust manifold at a cost of $475.00 due to a crack found in the manifold during a required state vehicle inspection. The repair shop personnel indicated that this is becoming almost routine for this model vehicle prior to a redesign of the manifold by the manufacturer.”

NHTSA complaint #10013786, filed 2003-04, 152,011 miles

“Motor mount bolts shear on the passanger side. Engine drops hard and has damaged the electric fan and other components. Failure has occured 5 times. Chrysler does not acknowledge the problem. First failure occured at about 40k mi”

NHTSA complaint #10000218, filed 2002-12, 43,000 miles

“I heard there had been problems with the bolts connecting the engine to the motor mount shearing off, and was told I should check for a recall. The car was not under any extraordinary stress, but the engine fell when I hit a bump in the road. The repair of the bolts alone was expensive, plus there was damage to the casing around my clutch fan and minor fluid leaks as a result.”

NHTSA complaint #704199, filed 1999-03

“On the engine, the engine mounts broke apart and fell out, which caused the engine to be pushed into the fan. The Jeep is 47 months old when this happened. I believe either there was a defect or it was assembled wrong because there is no way this should happen to a vehicle of 47 months. Someone working in the garage where I had this fixed told me he heard of this happening to other jeeps.”
