Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“Ac failed four times within two weeks; vehicle is under warranty, but dealer won't replace and still hasn't fixed the problem. Catalytic converter was replaced, but improperly installed; had to return to dealer second time to get it fixed, as they had it improperly attached and mounted next to gas tank. Vehicle also drives rough, and sounds horrible, although dealer said no other problems were found.”

NHTSA complaint #712148, filed 1999-09

“Air conditioner (A/C) is leaking freon. Fluid is gone within a month. When accelerating A/C shuts off and air blows through windshield. Dealer is replacing the valve, but is not certain if it will stop the leak. The dye they use isn't determining the problem.”

NHTSA complaint #865672, filed 2000-07
