“The door handles have completely disentegrated an the windows no longer operate. The seat belts work intermittently and the door locks unlock an lock at random. The engine starts an stops on it's own. This vehicle was my dream vehicle but now I feel totally endangered by the lack of care and design by Jeep. I feel it is a ticking time bomb ready to cause danger at some point to me or my family”
NHTSA complaint #11144285, filed 2018-10, 141,000 miles“The first time was turning in store all dash lights and engine light on only had Jeep week, then find out recall take to dodge ,chrysler they do not know how fix yet.next esp,bas and engine lights place I bought said bring monday they will check it then on way home it cuts off while moving manage stop.we hope all this covered by chrysler.”
NHTSA complaint #10692797, filed 2015-03, 149,000 miles“I was in an accident and the airbags did not deploy. I was in town traveling about 30-35 MPH, the car I was following switched lanes and I hit a car that was completely stopped. The airbag warning light had been going on and off for about 6 months. I didn't think too much of it because it is not the only warning light that sometimes does that. I figured the electronics probably didn;t like all the water that pours into the frame and onto the drivers floor.”
NHTSA complaint #11048118, filed 2017-11, 100,000 miles“I was driving down a neighborhood street and re-adjusted my seating position. While driving, my knee slightly bumped the key and turned off my car while it was in drive. I then lost power steering and power brakes. Luckily I was moving slowly and could pull over and stop the car. I then tested it again in a parking lot and I determined that my Jeep shuts off every time I move the key with my knee, even while driving. Potentially very dangerous.”
NHTSA complaint #10607043, filed 2014-06, 50,000 miles“I bought a Jeep comander in may of 2008, two days later I had to have what was supposed to be a really great new car towed on a rollback to the dealer I had just gotten it from. Im driving down the road and it starts making a terrible noise and then it will not turn and just dies in the middle of the road. Right in the middle of an intersection with traffic coming at me. …”
