2007: “The car stalls without warning when you are driving.I have had it checked at the dealership and other shops several times and they cannot find out what is wrong with it. It does not matter if you are on the street or on the highway (which is scary) and it is totally random. According to the website I have had all the recalls done.”
NHTSA complaint #11229375, filed 2019-07, 117,000 miles2006: “Transmission stop shifting properly and shuttering in motion..took it to transmission shop, they said transmission needed replaced. Got new transmission, still had same problem. Took it back to shop, they did a second repair and charged me $2959.50. They didnt described what they did the second time. I had no problems since..so far.”
NHTSA complaint #11152813, filed 2018-11, 97,839 miles2009: “A few weeks ago while driving down a country road going around a semi sharp turn the Jeep just shut off. Lights, engine, brakes all power shut off. I was able to place the Jeep in neutral and start it back up. Everytime since while driving the dash lights flicker as well as the headlights. It stalls at times and sometimes the traction control light comes on and stays on until I turn the car off and back on.”
