Example complaints
Electrical system: “After having safety recall n23 / NHTSA 13v-175 performed, my vehicle's transfer case no longer shifts as it should, preventing the vehicle from shifting into neutral or 4 low. I do not trust that the stability control system will function correctly now as it is my understanding that this same system adjusts the torque to the front and rear axles as needed.”
NHTSA complaint #10563803, filed 2014-02, 70,100 milesEngine: “The Jeep will stall out while decelerating every few months for the last couple of years. Most of the time it has been while approaching an intersection from speeds of 30-45 MPH, so I have learned to pop the transmission into neutral to restart the car while in motion. This is horribly scary and dangerous since I obviously cannot steer during the process, and have, at least four times, been making a left-hand turn across traffic. …”
NHTSA complaint #10819246, filed 2016-01, 60,000 milesBrakes: “While driving out to my parent's with my daughters my Jeep just shut down,{stalled} while going 50-55 MPH. Lost power steering and brakes, had to shift into neutral and re start. This happened four more times in the next 8.4 miles. After dropping of my kids my husband followed me to the dealership to drop it off. About 9 miles away, and it shut down 6 more times at various speeds. Dealer does not know what's wrong and is waiting until monday to get a response from chrysler head quarters.”
NHTSA complaint #10660344, filed 2014-11, 85,012 milesTransmission and drivetrain: “The contact owns a 2010 Jeep Commander. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle decelerated and proceeded to stall. The failure recurred various times at speeds below 40 MPH. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 13v175000 (electrical system , power train) but was advised by the manufacturer that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 87,000.”
