Example complaints

One per model year, chosen for length and detail. Personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

2011: “My vehicle was in motion and I was driving on a three lane street with a speed limit of 45 MPH when the ABS brake system suddenly seized. The brakes remained engaged and the only way I could drive my car was to put it in reverse, then neutral then drive. My entire drive home I could hear the brakes and whenever I had to stop at a stop sign the brakes would lock.”

NHTSA complaint #11388253, filed 2021-01, 1 miles

2005: “The right front wheel/ tire separated from the suspension while driving. I was on the 5th floor of a parking garage. I was told this was directly caused by the lower ball joint failing. This was on a 2005 Jeep Liberty renegade. Recall repairs previously performed on front lower ball joints on 04/09/2007. I no longer own this vehicle.”

NHTSA complaint #11399689, filed 2021-03, 110,814 miles

2012: “I was hit on my passenger front, while attempting to cross into a parking lot, so hard until my tire rod bent at a 90* angle. My passenger airbag didn't deploy. None of my airbags deployed. There was no blind spot warning. Even after the impact, there was no alarm or notification of the damage, as the firemen were attempting to drive my car out of the road.”
