“Abs light turned on and stayed on. I have a Jeep Compass 2010 and during the first 28,000 miles the ABS light turned on. Talking with several owners of Jeep Compass and dodge caliber noticed that those guys had the same problem. Currently my Compass has 42,000 miles and still have the same problem. Is this a recall for warranty or repair by the warranty or I have has to pay for this.”
NHTSA complaint #10483666, filed 2012-11, 28,000 miles“My husband's car (2010 Jeep Compass) stopped suddenly for no reason while I was going about 40-45mph sunday 8/23. Even though I was wearing a seat belt, I was thrown forward out of my seat very hard. By the end of the day I was in so much pain I ended up seeking urgent care, where I found I have whiplash and sprained back and hand/thumb (which was forced backwards) and am now getting physical therapy for it. A few weeks ago, the warning lights for the antilock brakes, 4 wheel drive and traction control started flashing. We took it to the waldorf md Jeep dealer. …”
NHTSA complaint #10759052, filed 2015-08, 144,000 miles“System failed was the throttle body, power (engine?) and brakes. I was unable to accelerate while going up a hill. When this happened the whole vehicle shut off which wouldn't allow me to push in the break pedal since I was still in drive. This could of caused us to be hit from the traffic following behind me. This put our lives at risk. Unknown, unsure what is being questioned as far as repeoducing a problem? It has failed my states safety inspection yesterday. I just purchased this vehicle a week ago. Warning lights were lightening bolt, abs light and traction control light.”
NHTSA complaint #11574614, filed 2024-02“The brake and ABS are on. Also there is a lightning bolt that appears on the cluster. The honk does not want to work as well and it is associated with the airbag since its installed with it in the center of the steering wheel.”
