2010 Jeep Compass Suspension Problems

“Took vehicle to mechanic for inspection.I was informed that one of the front ball joints and tie rod was bad. This vehicle has never been used off road! I have been on a number of Jeep forums and it's apparent that the ball joints have been a big problem with these vehicles.I guess they are waiting for a serius accident accident and some one gets seriously hurt or worse killed before they make a recall like they did with the Jeep liberty's!”

“Purchased in 2017, 4 months later put close to $4000.00 in suspension and fuel filler tube due to extreme rusting. Now on april 15, 2019 took it in for oil change and was written on paper but not told to me. I just was going through the papers today because the bbb said they can't handle my problem. Mdh 0826xx is a safety bulletin that extended the coverage for this problem. I still owe on this and the dealer should be held accountable for all of these parts I paid for some already but this I won't pay for. Why isn't randy wise chyrsler responsible? …”

“The ball joint on the Jeep has had to be replaced 2 times on the left. One time at 42,000 miles. The second time at 85,000 miles. Also the right sided ball joint and control arm had to be replaced. Failure of these components can lead to the wheel coming off and wrecks. Information on the internet and the mechanics I have spoken with say they have never seen these parts wear out as frequently as they are in this Compass and there should be a recall.”

Chrysler knows of this problem with 2010 jeep compass but has never issued a safety recall, it seems only fair that Chrysler should held responsible to recall this vehicle since they used cheap parts knowing they would not hold up in states with heavy winters and the use of salt on roadways.”

The contact took his vehicle to a tire shop mechanic and was advised that the lower front control arm and ball joints needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired.
